Two Kitchens, One Table

How an Italian recipe box and a Kololo kitchen ended up cooking the same meal.

Our Story

It started with Nonna Lucia Rossi's recipes, carried from Naples to Kampala, and the Rossi family's decision to open their doors in Kololo in 2019. Every dish on our table started as a question: what happens when a family recipe from one kitchen meets the ingredients and instincts of another?

Mama Mia's Kitchen is our answer — cooked, plated, and served right here in Kololo, for neighbours who want something familiar and something new on the same plate.

Who We Are

The short version of what matters to us.

  • Local Sourcing

We buy close to home — Kololo and the markets around it — so the fusion tastes like this place, not a postcard of somewhere else.

  • Family Recipes, Reimagined

Nothing on the menu is a copy of a dish from a guidebook. Each one started in a home kitchen before it reached ours.

  • Warm Neighbourhood Hospitality

We know regulars by name and treat first-timers the same way — like they're already part of the table.

Come Taste It Yourself

The best way to understand the story is to sit down and eat it.
